Raised on a steady diet of comic books, animated films, video games and fictional novels of every fantastical nature, this artist/designer (and parent) works in both traditional and digital mediums. When I’m not creating art I can be found swimming in the ocean, at the playground, drinking beer (preferably Belgian ales), and travelling (to places real and imagined) and catching up on some much needed sleep. I also daydream of survival strategies in the event of a zombie apocalypse. I am currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Recent work consists of mostly digital illustrations (can’t splash oils with a young child milling about!); and an occasional t-shirt design. I am available for commercial work or private commissions. All work posted on the site is available for lease or sale (unless otherwise labeled). Please feel free to contact me with any inquiries or to leave a comment.

Nuclear Season

STATEMENT:  What is it that compels me to my subject?

I am intrigued by the juxtaposition of the ordinary and extraordinary; the familiar and unfamiliar; the meeting place where reality become surreal. This depiction of seemingly incongruous elements and its ability to alter how each is perceived is what I find most fascinating.

My work draws upon the culmination of these disparate elements: cityscapes devoid of its inhabitants, the quiet ‘Hopper-esque’ nobility of a building one passes each day without a second glance then one moment comes a realization that when viewed in a certain light that it has transformed into distinction; groups of super beings congregating and behaving like normal citizens posing for the viewer.

Through my work I seek to challenge one’s sensibilities. To render the unconventional and manifest it into an aesthetic experience with the intent that the observer may discover that which had not existed in their imagination before.
